Adventurers climb from the edge of town up to Mt. Pfander for excellent lake views and visits to the game park, cable car museum, and falconry exhibit. Hikers can climb up or take the Pfanderbahn cable car, which tugs up the hill in just six minutes. It’s open daily from 9 am-7 pm. One favorite hiking excursion from the top follows the Käsewanderweg, or “cheese route,” between several hospitable dairies, farmhouses, and guest-houses. The tourist office offers a map.
